Val started Tole painting in the 1990’s and has not looked back since. Being a teacher by profession, I have had a fondness for all things educational in the field of decorative painting. As a member of the Jansen Art/Heritage Education team , it has enabled me to become a better teacher and artist.
I have been a member of the Society of Decorative Painters and been active in the Montreal Area Decorative Painters Guild for the past 15 years.
I have been teaching in my home studio for the past 10 years and on occassion, do some travel teaching.
A teacher should always be a student and in 2010, I am taking courses with Russian artists both in Zhostovo florals and Palekh painting. I am also taking seminars with David Jansen.
I am a Jansen Art/Heritage Education Ambassador, and I have had the privilege of meeting many other artists and teachers who share the same philosophy as I do.
I live in Rigaud, Quebec, Canada with my husband of 39 years and my brother. My four children and grandchildren are scattered around Canada and the globe and I enjoy traveling to visit them.
